Following a multitude of low-key releases, which culminated in an album (Oh Wow!) on leftfield electronica label ADAADAT, the evolution of these trans-national kids takes another significant step forward with Populuxxe. Erasing another chunk of noise from their sound, Cutting Pink With Knives have injected a variety of influences from 80s rock, hip-hop, pop and dance music to arrive at a sound that is undeniably their own. Unquestionably pop, enviably concise, Cutting Pink With Knives lodge themselves deep within your cranium without wasting a single second.

Tracklisting
1. Just because you sleep next to me doesnt mean youre safe
2. Will someone shoot that fucking snake

4. Swarm over death
Gallows need no introduction right now. On white vinyl, with black and silver artwork and a pressing of only 500 copies, to say this release is special would be an understatement.

HRR005CD Chariots 'The Inner Life' CD EP OUT NOW!
Tracklisting
1. The Red Notebook
2. Last judgement
3. Albany
4. Sacred Detoura
5. The Inner Life
With 'The Inner Life' EP, Chariots have produced the farewell record which has redefined their boundaries once again, and makes their demise all the more sad. Taking any of the genre names which may have been associated with Chariots before to another plane altogether, their sound remains crushing and intense whilst taking in a far wider scope, involving atmospheric instrumental interludes and post-rock passages which combine with something altogether more heavy, beautiful and sinister. Fans of anything from Envy and Orchid to Shikari and His Hero is Gone should take note.

HRR004CD Chronicles of Adam West CD EP OUT NOW!
Tracklisting
1. Small Town, Big Mouth
2. Shit Eating Grin
3. The Applicant
4. Corvus et Lupus
5. Showcat
Definitely not grind, Chronicles' brand of relentless tech-metal with death-tinges crosses over to lands normally inhabited by something far more experimental or even prog. With an appeal as far and wide as Meshuggah and The End to The Murder Of, they defy description and show British experimental metal has more life in it than the Myspace bands which have over-saturated the scene. These five songs make for a devastatingly accomplished debut.
HRR002V Kayo Dot/Bloody Panda - split 12" VinylOUT NOW!
Tracklisting
Side A: Kayo Dot - 1. Dont Touch Dead Animals
Side B: Bloody Panda - 1. Fever / 2. Circle and Tail
Bostons Kayo Dot, with albums on Tzadik and Robotic Empire, cover a vast and mostly indefinable ground, with everything from orchestrated epic jazz to noise and doom thrown into the mix. Their 11 minute track was recorded for, and is excusive to, this release. New Yorks Bloody Panda contribute two tracks (19 minutes) that combine funeral sludge with female chanting and Eastern influences to create something utterly menacing but at the same time completely enthralling. Comes on marbled vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, with incredible artwork by Toby Driver of Kayo Dot.
Fucking awesome. Rock Sound 8/10
...it's only the journey that matters, and although here it's a frightening one, littered with dead ends and periods of jet-black darkness, it's a journey you will want to take again and again. Drowned In Sound 8/10
Dunno bout you but Im having this played at my funeral Subba-Culture.com
Quite simply put Genius. Rock A Rolla
This is heavy, down-tuned and nasty, with feeling, and if listened to loud can be powerful stuff. ZapBangMagazine.com 4/5
HRR003CD Rolo Tomassi – EP SOLD OUT
Tracklisting
1. Film Noir
2. Curby
3. Cirque Du Funk
4. Seagull
5. C is for Calculus
From Sheffield, Rolo Tomassi play a synth driven fury which at times descends into lounge jazz and at others peaks with balls out punk rock. Any other information about the band is secondary to a sound that is both eminently listenable and melodic, yet incredibly complex and heavy.5 songs in just under 30 minutes.
Easily the best UK release this year. MusicIsFuckingDead.com 4.5/5
Buy it, love it, and look after it in years to come this EP should be worth a fortune; if not monetarily then certainly as a document of one of 2006s most amazing new discoveries.Drowned In Sound 9/10
I would say that if you like a combination of hardcore and jazz with pop sensibilities and some intelligent hooks thrown in, buy this EP. Excellent stuff DieShellsuitDie.co.uk 8/10

Fantastic band, great recording and altogether fresh sounding to boot Zero Tolerance 4/6

In a parallel universe, all politicized grindcore/noise records would be this much fun. Kerrang 4/5
Drum along on a tabletop til your fingers fall apart. I did Drowned in Sound 8/10
This is completely stupid, but in a good way. Metal Hammer 7/10
This record is absolutely fucking sick. RockMidgets.com 5/5
