Appearing from out of nowhere, Holy State have absolutely laid down the gauntlet. How the fuck is this a debut recording? What mystical force is at work here? Was it fate that Holy Roar Records and Holy State should work together? Believe in forces beyond logical comprehension.

If Holy Roar Records has an unwritten ethic of working with bands that have no peers within the UK, then Holy State can surely only add to such lineage. Remember growing up with the Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, Girls Against Boys and Drive Like Jehu? Remember how Black Cross and Transistor Transistor reignited that love (albeit with added punk fury)? Holy shit, Holy State do!

Still don’t get it? This is classic punk music that doesn’t rely upon distortion or screaming to get a more-than-vital point across. This is about tone and intent. This is about sweet sounding riffs that get stuck in your head for days. This is about feel good music for the jaded and discontent. Want a modern day education in real rock’n’roll and punk rock?
